The fire was cranked up about 4pm, dunno why it was hot as hell.  I believe that Awaroa Lodge has new owners now.  It is private, and they own about 50 acres (the old owners paid 6 million; the new, 20 million.  Nestled in a New Zealand national park, I believe it's unique.  I hope the wood they burn doesn't come from the park.
