Lake Brunner, Easter 2006 (35 images)

Cap'n me, cabin boys Johnny Longhair and Ritchie.  We headed over to Lake Brunner from Christchurch on about 4:30pm on Friday avo.  We launched the boat about 7:30pm on the western shore of the lake, taking the Mitchells turn off rather than heading to Moana township (or Iveagh Bay).  I was hoping this would save us enough time to get the mast up and put the chit onboard and launch before darkness made it hard.  We just made it.  That said, we then spent an hour motoring across to Moana (the longest stretch of water we coulda picked!) and went straight to the pub (well what else!!!).  We went to the pub on Saturday night too - got out around 2am and we pushed off into the lake and dropped the pick.  Basically it was a hangover from Friday 'till Sunday (except when medicated).  Max wind speed over the weekend, maybe 1kt (the wind *appeared* to be 2kts when ferociously tacking into it.
